This project is all about our community, and what better way to get involved than by sharing?
At the Portobello Market on Saturday 3rd November, we will be offering a range of seasonal fruit and veg and we thought it would be a good idea to have some recipe suggestions on hand for anyone who’s not sure what to make with the produce.
Do you have any ‘Family Favourite’ recipes using seasonal fruit & veg that you’d like to share with the community? Let us know by commenting here or emailing email@example.com.
Our project is all about reinstating a traditional Greengrocer’s shop on Portobello High Street, but while we wait for suitable premises to become available*, we are continuing with our very popular stall at the monthly market in Brighton Park.
The next market is on Saturday 3rd November and our planning is already underway. There’s lots of great produce available at this time of year, but what would you like to see alongside the ever popular potatoes, carrots, onions and tomatoes? Leeks? Swedes? Brussels Sprouts? Pumpkins? Let us know and we’ll see what we can do.
See you on the 3rd!
** if you know of any shops which might be vacated soon, please let us know.
With our stall at Septembers Portobello Market having been such a success, we’re going ‘full-steam-ahead’ with our plans for an even better one at the October market on Saturday 6th.
Once again, to raise funds for our project, we will have a selection of loose fresh fruit & veg on offer, at competitive prices.
Make sure to put Saturday the 6th on your calendar and get along early (the market opens at 9:30) as some of our produce sold out very quickly last time! (We will have more of the popular lines this time, but better to be safe than sorry.)
A slightly belated but no less huge thank you to everyone who came along to the Portobello Market on Saturday, bought some fruit & veg from our stall, made a donation, chatted to us about the project or simply said Hi! We sold out of produce before the market finished and raised some much-needed funds to help take the project to the next stage.
A particular thank you to all the volunteers who came along and manned the stall; we would have been lost without you.
This month’s market was intended as a ‘toe-in-the-water’ but with it being so successful we will now start planning on how we can be bigger and better at the next market on Saturday 6th October.
